I am experienced in preparing pupils for ABRSM, Trinity Grades, and Diploma exams, including the actual exam recording for digital performance exams. My lessons thoroughly cover scales and arpeggios, sight-reading, and aural practice. I also offer tuition for Grade 5 theory exams. My students regularly achieve Distinction in their exam results.

2. The widest range of music lesson times available seven days a week

This is the only music school in Muswell Hill that offers piano lessons seven days a week from morning to late evening, to accommodate your busy schedule.

Mondays - Fridays: 9am - 9pm
Saturdays: 9am - 7pm
Sundays: 9am - 1pm

3. Morning and lunch time lessons for home schoolers, retirees, college students, and working professionals

Lessons are offered as early as 9 a.m. and I see many students between the hours of 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. If you are a homeschool parent, retiree, college student or working professional who has a flexible schedule, take advantage of my morning and lunch time lesson spots.

4. Conveniently located on Princess Lane in Muswell Hill

Thanks to its accessible location, my studio is convenient and draws students from Highgate, Crouch End, East Finchley, Finchley, Wood Green, Bounds Green, Hornsey, Archway and London. The studio is easy to find, on Princess Lane, with shops and restaurants close by.

6. Free, all-inclusive student showcases with NO participation fees!

In March, July, and December, I encourage all students (young and old!) to participate in the charity recitals. The recital location in central London has an upright piano. This venue has a relaxed friendly atmosphere, meaning that students enjoy these casual, relaxed musical afternoons. Family and friends are invited to stay for a convivial reception after the sharing of the music. Unlike other piano schools, participants or their parents never have to pay admission or any related fees for these recitals. Charity donations are welcome and optional.

7. Month to Month lessons

My aim is to imbue students with the love of music. I do this through teaching and music that inspires my students. Unlike other programs, I do not require semester minimums for lessons. You can begin anytime! To stop lessons, I just need 30 days' notice.

About Yukari

Yukari moved to the UK in 1983 and entered the Royal Academy of Music 1988 to study harpsichord and piano. During her studies she began giving piano lessons alongside continuing to perform in regular harpsichord concerts, before deciding to dedicate herself to teaching. She now has over 37 years experience teaching in North London with her students ranging from beginners to graduate students and aged from 5 and up.

Yukari‘s study of the harpsichord, an instrument of great subtlety and sensitivity, gives her a particularly acute feeling for keyboard techniques and textures, which she finds useful in analysing and teaching music of all periods, as well as giving her particular expertise in the style and interpretation of Baroque and Classical music. During her teaching career she has continued to develop and extend her teaching skills, taking ABRSM and other courses in Jazz, Pop and Latin styles, and in teaching early years.
